Sun Breathing Exercise: to Brighten Mood

Elevate your energy body with this simple Sun Breathing exercise.


Take a seated position, and begin to deepen your breath by taking slower, more mindful inhales, and more purposeful exhales. Perhaps on each exhale, imagining letting go of anything you no longer need.


Once you feel calm and grounded, with the eyes gently closed, bring into your mind the image of the Sun.


Take a moment to connect with its brightness, or its warmth. Perhaps you may connect with a memory of a particularly sunny holiday or a walk in nature, when you felt the warmth of the sun on your skin. Stay here for a moment.


Then as you begin to feel or connect with the energy of the Sun, imagine breathing in that energy - into your third eye (the point between the eyebrows) - then imagine that energy travelling down through the throat, the heart, and then into the stomach, the abdomen.


Once the energy reaches the stomach, as you exhale, allow that energy, that warmth from the Sun, to radiate outwards. It may radiate out through your body, perhaps expanding outwards far enough to reach back towards the Sun, forming a loop. It may be, that the Sun energy stays in your abdomen and expands out to the rest of the body and that is where it stays until your next breath in.


Breathing in:- imagine inhaling Sun light energy through your third eye, the point between the eyebrows, travelling down the body towards the abdomen.


Breathing out:- imagine as you exhale out, the Sun energy in your abdomen expands.


Continue until you feel it is enough, you could try 1 minute to start practicing this exercise, then move up to 3 minutes or longer.
